Learn how to set up your billli account, configure your business profile, and connect your banking details to start creating Swiss QR-Bill invoices.

Welcome to billli! This guide will walk you through setting up your account and getting ready to create your first Swiss QR-Bill invoice.

Creating Your Account

Getting started with billli takes just a few minutes:

  1. Visit billli.ch and click Start free
  2. Enter your email address and create a secure password
  3. Verify your email address by clicking the link we send you
  4. You're in! Now let's set up your business profile

billli offers a free tier that includes up to 5 clients and 10 invoices per month—perfect for getting started.

Setting Up Your Business Profile

Your business profile appears on every invoice you send. Complete it once, and billli will use this information automatically.

Required Information

  • Business Name: Your company or freelance business name
  • Address: Your complete Swiss business address
  • Email: Contact email for your business
  • Phone (optional): Business phone number

VAT Information

If you're VAT-registered in Switzerland:

  1. Go to SettingsProfile
  2. Enable VAT registered
  3. Enter your VAT number (CHE-XXX.XXX.XXX)
  4. Select your default VAT rate (8.1%, 2.6%, or 0%)

Not sure if you need to register for VAT? In Switzerland, VAT registration is mandatory once your annual revenue exceeds CHF 100,000.

Connecting Your Bank Account

The Swiss QR-Bill requires your IBAN to generate the payment slip. Here's how to set it up:

Navigate to Banking Settings

Go to SettingsBanking in your billli dashboard.

Enter Your IBAN

Enter your Swiss IBAN (starts with CH). billli validates the format automatically.

Add Account Holder

Enter the name exactly as it appears on your bank account. This is required for QR-Bill compliance.

Save and Verify

Click Save. billli will confirm your banking details are correctly formatted for QR-Bill generation.

Your First Invoice

Now that your account is set up, you're ready to create your first invoice:

  1. Click New Invoice in the dashboard
  2. Select or create a client
  3. Add your line items
  4. Review the QR-Bill preview
  5. Send or download your invoice
